Freshman Emmit Brooks is the only wrestler listed at 197, a problem weight for head coach Adam Aho since he took the job five years ago. With Brooks, Aho appears to have finally brought in someone tailor made for the weight class. Brooks is a state qualifier from Temecula, CA and may need a bit of a learning curve early on. That said, Aho is excited about his potential for a stellar career at Mary.
‘Brooks is committed to the program to the point that he moved out here after graduation to start training,” Aho noted. “Even in the last few months, I have seen dramatic improvement in all areas of his wrestling.”

Peoria, IL native Dom Tudor had a respectable true freshman season for the Marauders last year. Added to the room this season is true freshman Dominic Urena of Lake Elsinore, CA. The pan is to redshirt Urena this season, but pay close attention to his Open results. Urena had an impressive showing at the Marauder intersquad meet earlier this month and should turn some heads early in his career.
