Minot High State Champion Kelby Armstrong Commits to Minot State

Minot High state champion Kelby Armstrong is staying home. Armstrong, a two-time state finalist and 2018 state champion, has committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Minot State University. Armstrong has been one of North Dakota’s premier light weights over the last three years, in 2018, Armstrong finished with a 51-1 record on his way to a state championship at 106 pounds. Armstrong was Rumble on the Red champion during that season. Last year, Armstrong went 42-2 and finished runner-up at 113.

Minot State has done a fantastic job keeping the best wrestlers from the Minot are home. Bishop Ryan’s Jordan Will was an NCAA qualifier at 285 last winter, and former Armstrong teammate Je-Mario Jones wrestles 197 for the Beavers. Armstrong’s teammate Jacob Carmichael has also committed to Coach Evan Forde with the class of 2020.
