NDSU’s annual Green & Gold Scrimmage match order is out, and fans can expect some fantastic matchups as Coach Roger Kish’s lineup comes together. The most intriguing match up of the evening is on the schedule last, as redshirt freshman Jared Franek-a Cadet national freestyle champion and junior runner-up from West Fargo- will wrestle the winner of an earler match between juniors Luke Weber and Nick Knutson in the 157 pound weight class. After transferring in from Nebraska at the semester break last winter, Weber was strong starting the second half of the season for the Bison. Weber defeated multiple nationally ranked individuals before finishing short of the NCAA tournament. Two other weights will have semifinal matches culminating with winner meeting at the end of the program. At 174, NCAA qualifier from last season Lorenzo De La Riva will match up with Jimmy Noel. In the other semifinal, West Fargo three-time state champion Jesse Shearer will match with Minnesota product Michael Otomo. At 141, Redshirt freshman Sam Stuhl will wrestle Sawyer Degen in a preliminary bout with the winner getting Dylan Droegemueller or Sam Hampton. NDSU fans will see McGwire Midkiff at 125 for the first time in his tilt with true freshman Corey Gamet. Gamet was a prized recruit for the Bison in the class of 2019.
