University of Jamestown head women’s wrestling coach Shauna Isbell-Kemp finished fifth at the US Open Friday in Las Vegas. Isbell-Kemp, who just last month directed the Jimmies to a third place finish at the inaugural NAIA National Invitational, went 2-2 over the course of the two day tournament. Seeded sixth at 55 KG, her first win came via 7-5 decision over Alexandra Hedrick of Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. Isbell-Kemp also wrestles with Titan-Mercury. In the semifinals, Isbell-Kemp led 2-1 late in the second period, but was put to her back for a two point exposure and eventual fall. Isbell-Kemp then dropped a consolation semifinal bout 5-2 to eventual third place finisher Dominique Parrish before again defeating Hedrick for fifth.
