The #1 ranked Lisbon Broncos flexed their muscle one more time before the state tournament, crowning five champions and outpacing second place South Border by 46.5.  the Broncos scored titles from state #1 seeds Boeden Greenley (106), Caleb Nielsen (113) and Jordan Sours (152), and then threw in big upsets from Gavin Reinke (195) and Ben Shearer (285) for good measure.  Sam Reiger was also champion for the Broncos at 220 with a decision win over Hunter Greenmeyer.  Reinke scored a 6-3 decision over Napoleon’s #1 seed Peyton Grunfelder.  Grunfelder had previously won their only matchup of the season.  285 Ben Shearer handed #1 ranked Riley Molter of South Border his only loss of the year by second period fall.  In total, ten Lisbon are headed to the state tournament.  Three Broncos came up just short with fifth place finishes.

Second place South Border registered a lone champion in #2 ranked Mark Jochim at 145, and qualified their own ten wrestlers.  At 160, top seed Jake Herr was beaten by Napoleon state champion Nathan Weigel 8-6.  Herr had previously defeated Weigel in the finals of the East/West.  Fourth place Napoleon also got an individual championship performance from undefeated two-time state champion Garrett Jangula.

Oakes finished third and had title performances from Coy Awender and Logan Sell.  Awender edged Linton/HMB’s Trey Jacob 7-5, while Logan Sell defeated Lisbon’s Levi Schwab 3-1.

Kindred boasted two champion in state champion 120 Carter Schmitz and 138 Brock Roesler.  Schmitz was untouched, scoring two pins and a technical fall in the finals over Garrett Schneider of South Border.  Roesler pinned Lisbon’s Hunter Schwab.

Linton HMB’s Chandler Nagel scored a :52 second fall over South Border’s Jon Schockley to win the 126 pound crown.
