12/6 Dual Round Up: Bismarck Flexes Muscle In Win Over Jamestown

In an intriguing West Region matchup between the state champion Bismarck Demons and surging Jamestown Blue Jays, Bismarck High showed why it is the overwhelming favorite to win the North Dakota Class A state championship.  Jamestown won two of the first matches of the dual starting at 182, but Bismarck High then reeled off five consecutive victories starting with a pin from heavyweight state champion Chase Dockter to take a 28-11 lead.  At 106, Bismarck’s #2 Christian Tanefeu defeated #1 Aden Braun 10-6 in the highlight match of the evening.  Tanefeu’s brother Wilfried followed that up with a 13-4 major decision over Joel Bowman at 113.  After Demon victories from Brock Fettig and Laken Boese, Jamestown stopped the bleeding with a 3-0 decision from state champion Ethan Bowman over Preston Fettig. Three-time state champion Demon Ryan Ripplinger then stole the momentum back for good with a major decision over Colton Mewes 18-4.  The Demons won the last three bouts of the evening to run the final dual score to 44-17.  Demons Brandt Kringlie and Gage Roaldson both scored wins over ranked Blue Jays, with Roaldson’s coming via fall in 2:54.
