Bismarck High ended fourteen points short of a Mandan Lions team title Saturday. The Demons placed five wrestlers in the finals and got titles from Ryan Ripplinger (138), Gage Roaldson (138), and Chase Dockter (285). Brothers Christian and Wilfried Tanefeu were runners-up at 106 and 113.

St. Mary’s Central crowned two champions in 120 Reece Barnhardt and 132 Drew Steidler. Both were dominant along the way. Barnhardt scored bonus points in every bout, and defeated Sturgis two-time South Dakota state champion Jacob Wood 12-4 in the finals. Steidler scored only technical falls or pins through six matches.

Hettinger/Scranton’s Kyle Burwick claimed his third Lions crown with a fall over Century’s Clay Radenz in 2:27. The University of Wisconsin commit racked up four pins and two technical falls over the course of two days.

Other North Dakota champions were West Fargo’s Cade Pederson, Legacy’s Matt Kaylor, and Mandan’s Jacob Boehm. Kaylor won his third consecutive title, with each coming at 195 pounds.
