Lisbon enters this season the favorite to repeat as state individual tournament champions. The Broncos boast three top-ranked wrestlers in Boeden Greenley, Jordan Sours, and Ben Shearer. Behind Lisbon with a bit less depth, but a stable of four number ones, is last year’s runner-up New Salem/Almont. The Holsteins are poised to make a hard charge at their first championship in team history with the addition of 106 Cole Gerhardt. Not far behind New Salem is third ranked Carrington. The Cardinals only feature one number one in their lineup, but boast the most upside with a strong stable of guys ranked 4-6 or on the cusp of the rankings.
Rankings are based on NDwrestle individual Class B rankings and award the following points based on rank:
1st: 16 4th: 7
2nd: 12 5th: 5
3rd: 9 6th: 3
There were no rankings for the 106 pound weight class to start the season, so some teams could see a nice boost when the first 106 ranks are released next week.
