Bismarck High enters this season the overwhelming on paper favorite to repeat as state individual tournament champions. The Demons boast three top ranked wrestlers in returning state champions Lake Boese, Ryan Ripplinger, and Chase Dockter. Sitting solidly in second place with eight ranked wrestlers including #1 Tate Nordby at 160 are the Dickson Midgets. Dickinson boasts seven wrestlers in the top four of their respective weight classes. Following the Demons and Midgets four more West Region programs including Century, Minot, Mandan, and Jamestown. West Fargo and Valley City enter the ranks for the EDC at seventh and eighth respectively.
Rankings are based on NDwrestle individual Class A rnakings and award the following points based on rank:
1st: 16 4th: 7
2nd: 12 5th: 5
3rd: 9 6th: 3
The first rankings of the year do not factor in the 106 pound weight class, which will be ranked for the first time after next weekend’s first slate of tournaments.
