West Fargo senior Jared Franek showed why he is one of the best wrestlers in the country Saturday night in Indiana.  Wrestling for Team USA, the 4X North Dakota state champion and North Dakota State University commit wasted little time in disposing of Indiana state third place finisher Jack Eiteljorge at the Dream Team Classic sponsored by IndianaMat, Cliff Keen, and Wrestle USA Magazine. Franek and Eitlejorge wrestled the first match of the dual at 160 pounds, and Franek scored a  low double thirty seconds into the math to grab a 2-0 lead.  After cutting Eiteljorge away, Franek continued to pressure forward but was denied a takedown at the end of the first period on a beautiful go behind attempt that the referees deemed was not enough to warrant two points at the buzzer.  Franek started the second period in the down position and and quick escaped from short sit position.  Franek immediately shot a left side single leg for two and a 5-1 lead.  After riding out the second period, Franek started the third period on top when Eiteljorge selected the bottom position.  After a quick Eiteljorge escape, Franek showed superb defense on a knee pull leg attack that resulted in no points but was Eiteljorge’s best scoring opportunity of the match.  Franek found the legs twice in the last period, but Eiteljorge did a nice job of scrambling into stalemated at the match ended 5-2.

Team USA was victorious in the match 27-16.
