There are five new #1 ranked wrestlers in the aftermath of The Linton Holiday Tournament.  At 113, Bishop Ryan’s Connor LeDoux takes the top ranking after his 2-1 win over New Salem/Almont state champion Clay Gerhardt.  LeDoux stands undefeated at the midway point of the year.  New Salem/Almont’s Chauncey Dittus found success in his first matches at 132 pounds, dominating the field in Linton.  Dittus was state champion at 126 last season. Maybe the most impressive jump came from another New Salem/Almont grappler; Josh Irwin navigated a stellar field at 138 including 2X state champion Cale Schalesky to take the first #1 ranking of his career.  Though Pembina County North doesn’t attend the Linton Holiday, Tanner Urlaub jumps to #1 with his performance the week before in Carrington.  Urlaub defeated #3 Eli Hackman by first period fall.  the final big mover was Watford City’s Jackson Faller at 285.  After taking a loss to Bishop Ryan’s Keegan Henjum earlier in the year and losing his top ranking, Faller took it back with a strong championship performance in Linton.

*Wrestlers are ranked where they most recently wrestled in nearly all circumstances.  Wrestlers are not ranked until they compete.  For Class B, only one wrestler from a given school can be ranked at a give weight class.  In the case of Carrington state champion Lucas Geiszler,  teammate Zach Broadwell competed in the Linton Holiday Tournament at 138, where Geiszler has competed up to this point of the season.  Geiszler cannot yet be ranked anywhere else as he only has matches at 138.  Questions or angry comments can be sent to ndheadlock@yahoo.com.
