Lisbon Edges South Border in Clash of B Titans

Lisbon edged South Border in a Region 1 dual between the teams many consider the front-runners for this year’s Class B state championship.  The dual shifted back and forth, with Lisbon taking a ten point lead with consecutive wins at 160 and 170 from Jacob Reinke and Jordan Sours. Sours looked in mid-season in spite of missing much of the first half of the season to injury.  He defeated South Border’s Jake Herr 9-6.  South Border countered with a forfeit at 182 and major decision from Nathan Schauer at 195 to knot the dual score with only two matches remaining.  At 220, Sam Rieger gave Lisbon a 29-26 lead with a 6-0 decision at 285.  Lisbon’s Grant Lyons close the door have 285 with a  6-2 decision over South Border’s Hunter Wolf.

Lisbon had the 8-6 match advantage and also got pins from 113 Mike Nelson and 138 state champion Boeden Greenley.  South Border’s lone fall came from 120 Marshall Lindgren.
