For the first time in the Adam Aho era, the University of Mary will compete at the Division II National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky. Competing teams are selected based on the previous years national results, so the Marauders received the invite based on returning national qualifiers Phil Springsteen and Lalo Jamie. Springteen was an All American at 174 pounds last season. The currently unranked Marauders will wrestle #8 (Flowrestling) Limestone in their first match of the tournament at 9:00 AM CT Friday morning, with the winner advancing to wrestle #5 Pitt-Johnstown. Limestone’s lineup is loaded with wrestlers individually ranked in the top 20 by Flowrestling. The team is led by #3 ranked 197 Matt Rudy and #5 ranked 157 Sean Glasgow.
The Marauders enter National Duals without the services of 165 Dante Springsteen and 149 Devin Steidler. Dante Springsteen, who just entered the rankings after placing at the Midwest Classic in December, will miss the remainder of the year with a shoulder injury. Steidler is currently in concussion protocol with the hopes of returning to the mat in the near future.
