cVisiting Concordia mustered just one victory; a fall at 149, in the first dual of the season at the MAC for the University of Mary. Mary saw success throughout the dual from many lineup newcomers including the bottom three weights. At 125, North Dakota Class B state champion Jeremy Leintz got things rolling for Mary with a 15-8 decision. Bismarck High two time state champion and true freshman Laken Boese scored a 3-1 decision in his first official action as a Marauder. At 141, Trevor Fauver won an 8-2 decision for his Marauder dual victory. Redshirt freshman Braydon Huber was as advertised at 157, defeating Concordia’s Brett Wilson 7-3. At 165, Montana native Payton Hume got his first dual win with an 11-5 decision over Fargo Davies product Alex Skaare 11-5. The long-awaited first match from Dante Springsteen was a go at 174. Springsteen, whose All American older brother Phil won his bout in ugly fashion at 197, was dominant from neutral. Springsteen shot his way to a 12-3 major decision victory over Ian Frenzel.
Veterans also got in on the action for Mary. Along with Phil Springsteen, senior Austin Eichmann looked strong up two weight classes from last season with a 5-2 decision at 184. Junior Dom Tudor defeated Austin Ratliff 6-3 at Heavyweight.
