Ryan Blees’s College Career Ends via Falls to CSU-Bakersfield’s Rohlfing

North Dakota native Ryan Blees’s college career has ended.  The Bismarck native fell in Friday morning’s NCAA Championship consolation round two to Russell Rohlfing of Cal State-Bakersfield.  Blees had a promising start to the tournament, upsetting #7 Kaden Gfeller in the first round before dropping a heartbreaking 3-1 overtime decision to Pat Lugo of Iowa.  In the consolation match, Rohlfing scored the first takedown two minutes into the first period and was able to ride Blees out.  Blees took neutral in the second and scored a beautiful low level leg attack that knotted the score at two, but Rohlfing was up and out immediately and got to a single leg.  With the leg in the air, Rohlfing tripped Blees down to his back and scored a fall.

Blees’s Virginia Tech career ends with two national tournament appearances.  He finished 1-2 in both.
