The host Jamestown Women’s Wrestling program finished third in the inaugural NAIA Women’s Invitational. In total, the Jimmie Women placed ten wrestlers in the top eight, with 130 Cara Romeike the high place winner at second. Romeike scored two technical falls and a first period fall before going down to Campbellsville’s Adribeth Rivera in the finals. Romeike and Rivera exchanged takedowns in the first period before Rivera threw a nasty headlock that put Romeike flat on her back for the pin. Romeike and Rivera were the top two seeds coming into the tournament.
101 Junette Cladera and 155 Myranda Velazquez both finished third. Caldera was pinned in the semifinals by Asia Ray of Wayland Baptist before scoring two consecutive pins on the backside. In the third place match, Caldera found herself behind at the break 8-5 to Hiba Salem of Menlo. At the start of the second period, Caldera was able to counter a Hiba double leg attempt with a chin rip that ended in a fall. Velazquez took her first loss in the round of sixteen, before winning four matches in a row for third place.
