Dickinson State’s Gresh Jones Advances to NAIA National Semifinals

With two first day victories, Dickinson State All American Gresh Jones secured another spot on the podium and punched a ticket to tomorrow morning’s national semifinals.  Jones, who was fourth at the 2018 national championships, scored a technical fall and a major decision during the first day of action.  Seeded third at 133 coming into the tournament, Jones will see a familiar opponent in the semifinals in Indiana Tech’s Erique Early.  Early defeated Jones 6-3 in the semifinals last season.

Dickinson State’s Tanner Stone scored an upset in the round of sixteen 7-5 over seven seed Derrick Smallwood of Lindsey Wilson, but dropped a 15-2 quarterfinal match to Montana State-Northern senior Brandon Weber.  Stone will need one win on the backside to make it two All Americans for the Blue Hawks.

The lone qualifier for the University of Jamestown, 141 Jesus Murillo, dropped his first two matches Friday and was eliminated.
