KUTZTOWN, PA. – Minot State defeats #19 ranked LIU Post in the opening round of the Kutztown Duals 26-13. Laim Hayden wrestling at 133 pounds won by fall over Jacob Zuller to give the Beavers a 10-0 lead in the first two matches. Jordan Will wrestling at 285 pounds won by fall over Tim Nagosky to close out the match against LIU Post.
In the second match, the Beavers defeated Shippensburg 30-8. Dean Arevalo won his match by technical fall to give Minot State a 5-0 lead. Jered Sublet won by fall to give the Beavers a 11-2 lead followed by a Shadi Mitwalli major decision victory. Jordan Willwon by decision to close out the match and give the Beavers two wins in the first day of the Kutztown Duals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dean Arevalo, wrestling at 125 pounds, won his match by major decision over LIU Post’s Brandon Mercado 18-7. Arevalo also won by technical fall over Shippensburg’s Corbin Hopkins 21-6
- Keegan Berry, wrestling at 184 pounds, won his match by decision 5-3 over LIU Post’s Dan McClure. Berry also won by decision over Shippensburg’s Ryan Narber 5-2.
- Nathan Baca, wrestling at 165 pounds, won by major decision over LIU Post’s Kenny Cooper 9-0. Baca won his second match by fall over Shippensburg’s Abner Thompson.
- Jordan Will, wrestling at 285 pounds, won by fall over Tim Nagosky to close out the match against LIU Post. Will won by decision over Shippensburg’s Derek Berberick 6-2 to give the Beavers two wins on the first day of the Kutztown Duals.
