The NDSU Bison are set to begin the heart of the dual season at home against a surging Iowa State team Wednesday evening. The Iowa State Cyclones, who edged the Bison at the SHAC last season, are led by second year head coach Kevin Dresser and his top assistant Derek St. John. St. John spent a year as an assistant at NDSU before heading to Ames and joining Dresser’s staff. The marquee matchup of the evening should happen at 133 pounds between freshman phenom Austin Gomez of Iowa State and Bison Cam Sykora. Gomez, currently ranked ninth by Flowrestling, is coming off an impressive second place showing at the Southern Scuffle last weekend. Sykora is ranked nineteeth in the same poll.
The match is set for 7:00 PM at the Sanford Health Athletic Center
