NDSU got back on the winning track Thursday night with a 31-13 stomping of Oregon State at the Sanford Health Athletic Center. The Bison won seven of ten bouts, including five via bonus. Bison freshman 149 Jaden Van Maanen recorded the only Bison pin of the evening in the dual’s first match. Van Maanen put the Bison up 6-0 with a fall in 5:55 over Beaver Zach Evans. #18 Cam Sykora scored his sixth technical fall of the season 19-3 in 7:00 over Oregon State’s Kegan Calkins. Sykora now sits 13-2 on the season. Also scoring bonus for NDSU were Andrew Fogarty (165), Cordell Eaton (197), and Brandon Metz (285). Other winning Bison were Lorenzo De La Riva (174) and Michael Otomo (184). The Bison did end up on the losing end of the featured match of the evening at 125 between #8 Brent Fleetwood and #3 Ronnie Bresser of Oregon State. Fleetwood and Bresser battled back and forth for three minutes before Bresser found a cow catcher in the second period and secured the fall in 3:43.
