Bismarck High senior state champion Laken Boese has made a verbal commitment to the University of Mary. Boese won a Class A individual state championship for the Demons at 106 pounds in 2017 before finishing fourth at 120 last February. After the state tournament, Boese had knee surgery that kept him out of the spring and summer wrestling seasons. As a junior, Boese was also Bismarck Rotary champion and finished fifth at the Rumble on the Red. Mary head coach Adam Aho has made hay recruiting local lower weights recently, with Bismarck products Nate Humann and Tate Barnhardt expected to top the depth chart this season at 125 and 133 respectively.
Boese joins fellow Bismarck native Matt Kaylor in committing to Mary for the class of 2019.
