Though North Dakota State has yet to release its 2018-19 wrestling schedule, we now know that South Dakota State will come to Fargo and battle for the Border Bell for the first time in three years this season. The Jackrabbits, fresh off a twelfth place finish at the NCAA championships last March that included three All Americans, will wrestle at the SHAC Friday, February 15. South Dakota State will look quite a bit different this season, as former head coach Chris Bono and his staff, as well as 125 pound NCAA qualifier Connor Brown, are now at the University of Wisconsin. Also lost to graduation are All Americans Luke Zilverberg and David Kocer. The biggest wrestling piece of the puzzle does still remain though, as 133 pound NCAA champion Seth Gross returns to Brookings for his senior season. The Jackrabbits will be led by 2X NCAA champion and former Cornell associate head coach Damion Hahn.
The Bison and Jackrabbits have built quite the rivalry recently, with the Jackrabbits winning each of the last four matches in a series that was dominated by the Bison to the point.
