Kyle Burwick can now add “nationally ranked” to his impressive list of prep accomplishments. After an impressive run at Junior Duals last week that saw the Hettinger four-time state champion go undefeated with wins over three ranked nationally ranked wrestlers, Flowrestlings latest rankings moved Kyle from honorable mention all the way to fifth at 126 pounds. Burwick defeated previously ranked wrestlers Ryan Franco, Chris Cannon, and Caleb Tanner. Franco was a Fargo Cadet runner-up last year and ranks right behind Burwick this week at sixth. Cannon is a two-time prep national champion at Blair Academy.
Burwick’s Junior Duals performance and new ranking should increase his exposure leading up to Junior Nationals in Fargo this July. Previously under the radar nationally, expect to see a lot of interest in North Dakota’s best soon-to-be senior wrestler at the Fargodome in a few weeks.
