University of Mary grappler Jared Reis’s national championship hopes ended Saturday morning in the semifinal round. Reis, a grad transfer from Oregon State University, fell to Pitt-Johnstown’s Cody Law by 7-4 decision. Law found a takedown in each period of the match, twice scoring on go behinds off of Reis attacks. Reis kept the bout close with strong bottom work, escaping quickly each time he was taken down but the Napoleon native wasn’t able to find any real offense of his own throughout, and will now wrestle back for third place. In the consolation semifinals, Reis will wrestle Matt Malcolm of Nebraska-Kearney.
