The South Border Mustangs are improbable state dual champions.  The Mustangs won eight of fourteen matches including falls from Nathan Schauer, Lucien Peterson, Hunter Wold, and Jon Shockley.  In the end, it was the decisions down the stretch that made the difference.  With Carrington leading 34-33 with two matches to go, South Border scored wins from Darin Vangorkom and  Jake Herr to put the match on ice.  Vangorkom bumped to 138 and defeated Carrington’s Michael Clifton 4-3, and Herr scored a 7-3 decision over Austin Hendrickson.
