Linton Holiday Should Bring Clarity to Many Class B Weights

With just under two weeks until Christmas, Class B teams are leaving behind smaller regional tournaments in favor of the Linton Holiday.  28 team, 26 of which are North Dakota Class B squads, will converge on Linton Friday and Saturday to dictate state title favorites for the first time.  Though individual team title contenders Lisbon and Pembina County North will not be in attendance, Hettinger. Bishop Ryan, Velva, Bowman County/Beach, Carrington, and last year’s team champion South Border all have the opportunity to make a big statement.  Fans can also expect big individual performances from the likes of New Salem/Almont, Des Lacs Burlington, and Napoleon; all of who  could have multiple champions Saturday evening.  Based on the latest (Dec. 4) NDwrestle rankings, 12 of 14 top ranked Class B wrestlers will be in attendance.  The 120 and 160 pound weight classes could feature all six ranked wrestlers, while seven other weight classes may have five out of six.

Expect a lot of movement this weekend as well.  Many wrestlers will enter this weekend down a weight class for the first time, so none of the below entrants are locked in for the tournament.
