Chance Davis made a statement defeating two two-time North Dakota state champions over the weekend at the Mandan Lions. Davis knocked off West Fargo’s JJ Harms by fall in pool play and then went on to defeat Cael Schalesky of Hettinger/Scranton 10-7 in the finals. The result is a big jump in the Class A rankings for Davis, who placed at 126 last year, but was just outside of the top six to start the season. Davis gives Legacy two top ranked wrestlers for the first time in program history, as 195 Matt Kaylor is also ranked first.
*Wrestlers are ranked where they wrested at in tournament competition. A wrestler will be moved to a lower weight class once he or she has competed in that class, and not before. Individuals that have not wrestled in a match this season are not ranked, and will be added to the rankings once they compete.
