Bismarck’s DeBoer Gives Verbal to Northern State

20258258_1011586785611396_3184457107353747478_nBismarck High senior Adam DeBoer will continue his academic and athletic career at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.  DeBoer, who has been a state finalists for the Demons in each of the last two season, made the decision via social media last Thursday.

DeBoer was sold on the smaller size of the Northern campus, was well as how strongly the community of Aberdeen backs the University.  Plus, the wrestling room and athletes had a familiar feel.

“The coaching staff and team is full of great guys, and after hearing how their program is run, it reminded me a lot of our high school room at BHS,” DeBoer noted.

Northern Head Coach Rocky Burkett has had success recruiting in North Dakota recently, grabbing five wrestlers from the Peace Garden State last season.  David Murphy of Fort Yates competed at 184 for the Wolves last season.
