The three day technique camp is being offered to those wrestlers entering grades 3-12 and will focus on all areas of Folkstyle wrestling. Each day will feature a before and after lunch technique session, with lunch provided on site. Live wrestling will cap each technique session.
“The MSUM Dragons coaching staff and current Dragon wrestlers look forward to working basic wrestling techniques that work at all ages levels,” Nelson stated in discussing this year’s camp.
In years past, the mix of youth and high school wrestlers has made for a productive atmosphere, and with an affordable price tag of eighty dollars for the three days, parents need not break the bank either.
Another big focus for Coach Nelson during the MSUM camp is goal-setting and having a winning attitude on the mat.
“The mental side of athletics is very important in achieving success,” Nelson noted of his philosophy. “Goal setting allows athletes and coaches to focus on areas that need improvement, and helps improve the quality of practice and performance by clarifying what expectations are in the classroom, at practice, and in competition.”
