For Jeremy Leintz, winning a state title was about finally reaching the mountain top as an individual, and breaking a curse for Beulah-Hazen that goes back to the 1990’s. A Beulah-Hazen (formerly Beulah) wrestler had not won a state title since Brian Biel brought home a title in 1998. Numerous Miners, including Leintz himself two season ago at 106, made the state finals and came up short, but this season Leintz was not to be denied. Lenitz won his state final 2-1 over Oakes sophomore Coy Awender with a reversal in the finals second of regulation.
