The University of Mary is sending two wrestlers to the NCAA tournament in RS Freshman Braydon Huber an RS Junior Phil Springsteen. Huber, a Post Fall, ID native, won two matches via decision before falling to #2 ranked (nationally) Jake Barzowski of St. Cloud State in the in the Super Region V final. Mary’s Phil Springsteen also fell to a St. Cloud foe in the finals and finished second, but not before an absolute battle in the semifinals over Upper Iowa’s Myron Crawford. Crawford held Springsteen to a single escape point until late in the third period, when the Mary All American locked up a nearside cradle and scored a fall in 6:56. St. Could’s Kolton Eischens dominated the final to the tune of a major decision.
Marauder Senior Austin Eichmann came up one match shot of a national championship berth for the second consecutive year. Eichmann scored the first takedown in his third place bout with Upper Iowa’s Dalton Hahn, but Hahn ground out a 4-2 victory.
