There is really nothing better than having a 125 in the linuep that can spark the next nine weight classes with his perfromance, and Minot State has that with senior Dean Arevalo. Arevalo broke out as a strong 125 two seasons ago and built himself in to a national qualifier/All American contender last season. Coach Forde has always sung the leadership praises of Arevalo, and now as a senior I’m expecting an NCAA tournament run to go with his contributions int he room. Two of the four qualifiers from the Super Region graduate, but 125 is perpetually a meat grinder so there will be no guarantee. Behind Arevalo are Minot (Bishop Ryan) product Conner LeDoux and Brandon Meikel, as well as a nice group of redshirts.

Redshirt Sophomore Oscar Nellis will likely get the nod for Minot State at 133. Nellis had a solid freshman season, finishing 12-12 overall and 6-7 against NSIC opponents. He also finished fourth at three different Open tournaments to start last season. There is a strong group of wrestlers behind Nellis that will push for mat time including Circle, MT native Lincoln Stormer and Liam Hayden, Hayden saw dual action for the Beavers last season and finished 2-7 in those matches. Potential Redshirt Cade Krishnek was third twice on the Idaho prep scene.
