North Dakota State has a lot to look forward to this wrestling season. The Bison return all but one starter to a team that finished 10-6 in dual competition last season, and now four of those wrestlers are ranked in Flowrestling’s Preseason Top 25. Leading the Bison into this season is senior three-time NCAA qualifier Andrew Fogarty. Fogarty is coming off his second Big 12 runner-up performance and ranks thirteenth at 165 pounds. Also a three-time national qualifier, fellow senior Cam Sykora enters the year fourteenth at 133. Senior two-time NCAA qualifier Lorenzo De La Riva enters the season ranked 19 at 174. Also breaking into the preseason rankings is 285 Brandon Metz. Metz had an up and down year as a redshirt freshman last winter and did not qualify for the NCAA championships. Metz enters the season ranked 21st and should benefit tremendously from the addition of Bison assistant Austin Marsden. Marsden was a two-time All American for Oklahoma State in the 285 pound weight class and has a strong buzz after a three year stint at Buffalo.
