Minot High School 2018 state champion Kelby Armstrong finished a match from placement at the NHSCA Junior Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA Saturday.  Armstrong finished 5-2 on the weekend, losing on the championship and consolation side to the same wrestler; Josiah Encarnacion of New York.  Encarnacion was a New York state runner-up this season.  Sandwiched between those two losses were four consecutive consolation decision victories; two of which came by 3-1 decision.

Velva’s Jeseb Mogen and St. Mary’s Central’s Drew Steidler also represented North Dakota at NHCSA Nationals.  Wrestling at 138, Steidler was forced to withdraw day two with an injury Mogen was 2-2.
