Kaylor 3rd, Okeson 8th at USAW Junior Folkstyle Nationals

Big Cat Wrestling Club’s Matt Kaylor finished in third place at USA Wrestling’s Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls Iowa Saturday.  Kaylor, a two-time state champion form Legacy High School, won his first three matches before falling to eventual champion Kyle Haas of Kansas via pinfall in 5:46.  Kaylor then defeated Wisconsin’s Marshall Kools 1-0 in the consolation semifinals before pinning Minnesota’s Chase Dressel for third.  Kaylor will graduate this spring and is set to join the University of Mary in the fall.

Bishop Ryan state finalist Corbin Okeson went 3-3 over the course of the two-day tournament and finished eighth.  Okeson, who clubs with the Dakota Rattlers in Minot, was defeated in the seventh place match by Wisconsin’s Sawyer Helmbrecht.
