Lisbon Defeats Carrington 48-22

Carrington started strong in the lower weights, but Lisbon’s hammers at the top of the lineup brought home a 48-22 victory.  The dual started at 106, where Carrington’s #3 ranked Matthew Duchscherer scored a fall over unranked Levi Sveum.  #1 Boeden Greenley and #4 Caleb Nielsen of Lisbon then evened the dual score at six with back to back decisions for the Broncos.  At 126, Brecken Lura made the dual score 11-6 Carrington with a technical fall over Silas Reinke, but Lisbon countered with a fall at 132 from Brody Aberle.  Carrington’s Lucas Geiszler made quick work of Simon Sveum at 138.  The #3 ranked Geiszler racked up a technical fall in 3:44 to put Carrington back ahead 16-12.  Cardinal Austin Hendrickson then made a strong statement at 145 with an 8-3 decision over #2 Hunter Schwab.  Hendrickson came into the match ranked third by NDwrestle.   With the score 19-12, Carrington only mustered one more victory for the remainder of the match; an 11-7 decision for Michael Clifton over Jaden Schmidt.  Lisbon recorder five pins and a medical forfeit the rest of the way starting with #1 Jordan Sours at 152 and ending with Sam Reiger at 285.  Avery Dick, Levi Schwab, and Gavin Reinke also recorded falls for the Broncos.  In the 220 pound bout, Lisbon’s Ben Shearer took a lead into the third period against second ranked Kaden Wolsky, but Wolsky was forced to injury default.  Shearer is the #2 ranked 285 in the state.

Lisbon will dual Central Cass in Thursday, while Carrington is finished until the Rumble on the Red.
