The Dickinson Blue Hawks begin their season tomorrow evening at conference rival University of Providence (Formerly Great Falls). Four Blue Hawks were in the preliminary NAIA rankings, with 133 Gresh Jones highest at second. The team enters the season ranked 20th. Jones, a four-time Montana state champion, is eyeing the top of the podium after finishing fourth last year. Enrique Early, who defeated Jones 6-3 in the NAIA national semifinals last March, is currently ranked first. Other ranked Blue Hawks are Rodolfo Guillen (149), Taner Stone (157), and Casey Jones (285). Jones was a a national qualifier for Dickinson State last season, while Stone just missed out on nationals and was ranked in the nation last year. North Dakota wrestling fans should remember Rudy Guillen, who spent three years at the University of Mary before transferring to Dickinson State for this season. Guillen was ranked as high as second nationally at the NCAA Division II level during his time at Mary.
The first Blue Hawk home event is Friday, December 7 against Northern State.
