Wrestling for Team Pennsylvania, North Dakota Native Sophie Smith finished fourth at Women’s Cadet nationals over the weekend in Irving, Texas.  Seeded first, Smith ran together three consecutive victories before falling in the semifinals to Kaylee Moore of Team Washington.  In that semifinal match, Smith fired off two nice single legs from space and ultimately put Moore on the shot clock, but was unable to finish either.  On the shot clock, Moore took a beautiful leg attack to the back for four points and ultimately secured a fall. On the backside, Smith defeated Payton Stroud of Washington 3-1 and then lost by fall in the third place match.

Smith currently competes in Pennsylvania for Wyoming Seminary.
