The Bison just landed an impact transfer as CSU Bakersfield wrestler Lorenzo De La Riva will be transferring to North Dakota State next season. De La Riva will have two seasons to compete for NDSU.

A former NCAA qualifier, De La Riva has compiled a 31-25 record over his first two seasons at 165 pounds. His breakout moment came in his freshman season when he stormed to the semifinals of the Midlands earning him a top six finish at one of the toughest regular season tournaments.

The Bison currently feature their own sophomore Andrew Fogarty at 165 pounds, but NDwrestle has confirmed that De La Riva intends to bump up for the Bison and compete at 174 pounds. The move will cause incumbent starter Dylan Urbach’s competition for the starting spot to increase.
