West Fargo High School head wrestling coach Kevin Fynboh is moving on from his coaching and teaching duties in the district for an opportunity at the college level. Fynboh let the West Fargo community know of his departure via email earlier today. Fynboh, who has led the Packers for the last two seasons since the retirement of Kayle Dangerud, has coached an astounding ten state champions over the last two seasons. Though three-time state champions Jesse Shearer and Brandon Metz will be lost to graduation, the Packer cupboard is certainly not bare. Jared Franek, who is currently ranked 63rd for the class of 2018, will return in pursuit of his fourth North Dakota state championship. State champions JJ Harms and Cade Pederson also return.
“Ian very grateful and blessed to have taught and coached in West Fargo and North Dakota,” Fynboh noted to NDwrestle. “The student-athletes, coaches, administrators, teachers, volunteers, and parents I have worked with and met through this experience have had a tremendous influence one my life. I will miss West Fargo, but and very grateful to have had this opportunity.
