Bismarck native Ryan Blees has been named Assistant Director of Wrestling Performance at Virginia Tech with an announcement made today via Virginia Tech wrestling’s twitter account. Blees, who just completed his career with the Hokies, a two-time NCAA qualifier, will also take the role of assistant coach at the Southeast Regional Training Center. The tweet included a glowing statement about Blees from Tech head coach Tony Robie:
“Ryan Blees has grit, a tremendous work ethic, and led by example in his time here at Virginia Tech. Having someone like Ryan around our program will only make our team better.”
Blees made the following comment to NDwrestle regarding his new position:
“The position is giving me the opportunity to try and help the Virginia Tech wrestlers improve as much as possible and assist the program in achieving its goals.”
Look for a Ryan Blees-centered podcast from NDwrestle the middle of next week.
