Twenty wrestlers represented North Dakota on Friday and Saturday at the USA Wrestling Northern Plains Regional Championship in Rochester, MN.  West Fargo 3X state champion Jesse Shearer finished the 3-1 in the Junior 182 pound bracket, falling only to eventual champion Jack Jessen of Illinois 6-4 in the semifinal round.  Jessen is an Illinois 3A (big school) state runner-up, and was a double All American in Fargo last summer.

In the Cadet 138 division, Minot’s Trevon McClanahan finished in sixth place with a 2-3 record. McClanahan won his first two matches to make the semifinals before dropping three in a row, including an 11-6 decision to Tyler Spolarich of Minnesota.

The high placer at the youth level was Robby Parisien of Turtle Mountain Wrestling Club.  Parisien won two matches by fall to bring home second place honors.
