Team North Dakota Set For Junior Duals

Junior Duals begins with Greco Competition from Tulsa, OK at 9:00 AM CT Wednesday.  The tournament will run through Saturday, with Freestyle competition beginning Friday morning.  All wrestling will be live streamed on Trackwrestling.com

Team North Dakota is made up of two teams-red and blue-with the blue team designated as North Dakota’s best roster.  North Dakota Blue is especially strong at the top of the lineup, where 3X North Dakota state champion Jesse Shearer (182) starts a run of four state champions including Minnesota AAA champion Sam Grove (195), Bishop Ryan 2X champion Jordan Will (220), and West Fargo 3X champion Brandon Metz (285).  All four are graduated seniors with Junior Duals experience and all will be competing at the college level.

Other All Americans competing for North Dakota are Kyle Burwick (Cadet Freestyle), Ryan Ripplinger (Cadet Greco), and Cadet Freestyle national champion Jared Franek.  Franek and Burwick are wrestling both styles this year after sitting out the Greco portion last season.

A major factor in North Dakota Blue’s overall success will be the lack of a 100 pound wrestler.  Without a 100 pounder, North Dakota Blue will be forced to forfeit one match in every dual on both he Greco Roman and Freestyle side.  North Dakota Junior Duals rosters are as follows:
