When it was all said and done, Bismarck High School’s Ryan Ripplinger described his season to ND Headlock in one word: “Emotional”. After all the ups and downs that Ripplinger and the rest of the Demons faced this year as a team, the sophomore dominated his way to the 120 pound Class A state championship, scoring falls in each of the four matches he wrestled over the course of the three day individual tournament. In the finals, Ripplinger upended Matpac teammate Drew Steidler of St. Mary’s in 2:26 to take his second title. Ripplinger finished the season with a 42-3 record and was undefeated to North Dakota Class A opponents.
